What is Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0?

Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 10 August 2021 in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh. Under this scheme, the first refill and stove are provided free of cost to the beneficiaries.

Under this scheme, beneficiaries are no longer required to provide identity card or ration card. Beneficiaries will have to submit a self-declaration form as address proof. Online application facility is available for the candidates to avail the benefits of this scheme.

Purpose of Prime Minister Ujjwala Scheme

Friends, even today there are many rural areas in our country where women cook food on wood stoves. And its smoke has a bad effect on the health of women and children. This can also cause respiratory diseases.

Also, wood smoke contaminates the environment which can cause illness for all the people of the village. In view of all these problems, the central government has planned to provide LPG gas connections to all needy women through the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. So that the kitchen can be made smoke free and the environment also remains clean.

Benefits of PM Ujjwala Yojana

Under this scheme, now free LPG gas connection will be provided to all the needy women of the country.
Now women will get relief from cooking in smoke and it will be easier for them to cook.
An additional allocation of 1.6 crore LPG connections will be made under PM Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 .
Using LPG gas will provide relief from pollution caused by wood and coal smoke.
Women and children can be protected from diseases caused by smoke.

Eligibility for Prime Minister Ujjawala Scheme

Some eligibility criteria have been set by the government for the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. If you want to take advantage of this scheme, then you have to meet these eligibility criteria which are as follows –

Only women are eligible to apply for the Ujjwala Yojana.
Applicant women must be minimum 18 years of age.
The applicant should be from BPL family.
Women who already have LPG connection will not be considered eligible for this scheme.
It is mandatory for the woman applying to have a bank account.

Eligibility for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0

The minimum age of the applicant woman should be 18 years.
There should not be any other LPG connection from any OMC in the same household.
Women of families living below the poverty line.
People who come under SECC.
Women from Scheduled Caste families.
Women from Scheduled Tribe families.
SC / ST beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin.
Beneficiary women of Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY).
Women from Backward Classes (OBC).
Women belonging to tea and ex-tea plantation tribes.
Women of tribal communities.
Woman living on islands and river islands.

How to Apply Online for PM Ujjwala Yojana 2025

If you want to get a free gas connection by taking advantage of the Ujjwala scheme, then for this you will have to apply online. To apply PM Ujjawala Yojana online, you have to follow the process given below –

First of all, go to the official website of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana . Now its home page will open.
On the home page of this website, you will have to click on Apply for New Ujjawala 2.0 Connection .

Select the company from which you want to get your gas connection.
For example, we have selected Bharat Gas here.
After selection, you will reach the Bharat Gas website.
Here you have to select Ujjawala 2.0 New Connection in the Type of Connection.
After this, tick on I Herby Declare.
Now you have to select your state and district and click on Show List.
After clicking, the list of all the distributors in your district will open.
Here you have to select your nearest distributor. After this you have to click on the Continue button.
After doing this, a new page will open in front of you. In which you have to enter the mobile number and captcha code and submit it.
After this, an application form will open in front of you to apply for a new gas connection.
You have to fill all the information asked in this form carefully. Along with this, upload all the requested documents.
After doing this you have to submit this form.
Now you will get the option to print the form. You can take a printout of this form and attach all the uploaded documents with this form.
Now you go and submit this form to the gas agency. After this, you will be provided a gas connection by the gas agency.
In this way, you can apply online to get free gas connection under Ujjwala Yojana.

Process to give feedback for Ujjwala Yojana

To give feedback, first of all you go to the official website of Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) pmuy.gov.in.
You will see the Feedback option on the home page of this website. Click on this option.
Now on the next page a form for giving feedback will open in front of you.
In this form, you will have to give your name, mobile number and rating in the feedback related options.
After this, you will have to write your feedback in the place of remarks. Now click on the submit button.
